There is no resting pulse: The new BMW S 1000 R launched in India.

Gurugram. BMW Motorrad India has launched the new BMW S 1000 R in India. The most awaited roadster will be available as a completely built-up unit (CBU) and can be booked at all BMW Motorrad India dealerships from today onwards.

The new BMW S 1000 R

The new BMW S 1000 R screams pure performance, even from afar. The typical roadster proportions provide a high degree of exclusivity. The Splitface LED headlight with daytime riding lights and the R logo create a uniquely imposing appearance. The short and sporty license plate holder, as well as the turn signals and license plate lights at the rear are now a single unit. The function of brake and taillight is integrated into the turn indicator lights.

The racing genes are amplified with the colour concept highlighting the sporty appearance of the new BMW S 1000 R. In addition to the basic colour Blackstorm Metallic, the R is also available with the Style Sport and the M package options. The Style Sport option with the Bluefire/Mugiallo Yellow paintwork has a dynamic look with the tinted Sport windscreen. The exclusive M Motorsport paint finish is reserved for the M package with the base colour Light White Uni in combination with Light Blue, Dark Blue and Red.

The new BMW S 1000 R is fitted with an oil/water-cooled four-cylinder four stroke in-line engine with a displacement of 999 cc. It generates a peak output of 170 hp (125 kW) at 11000 rpm and a maximum torque of 114 Nm at 9250 rpm to deliver supreme level of engine power. The new BMW S 1000 R sprints from 0-100 Km in 3.2 seconds and can achieve maximum speed of 250 km/h. (Electronically Limited).

The engine speed range is wider, fuller and more harmonious with improved rideability due to the linear torque curve. Compared to previous model, the engine power has been increased by 5 hp (4 kW). The optional M Endurance chain with a short secondary gear ratio is highly effective and requires little maintenance.

The R comes equipped with a plethora of standard features such as Headlight Pro with daytime riding lights, M Quick action throttle, Engine Drag Torque Control (MSR), riding modes – Rain, Road, Dynamic including Hill Start Control, 6.5 TFT display with connectivity, USB charging socket, Full LED light, Six-axis sensor box that includes ABS Pro and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC).

Riders further can choose between the optional equipment Dynamic Package, Comfort Package or M Sport package. Dynamic package includesDynamic Damping Control, Pro riding modes, shift assistant Pro, engine spoiler. Comfort package consists of Keyless Ride, cruise control, heated grips and tyre pressure control. The M Sport package consists of colour M package, M Sport seat, M fuel filler cap, M lightweight battery, sports silencer, M Endurance chain, M GPS-Laptrigger and M forged wheels or M Forged wheels.

The Multifunctional instrument panel – the 6.5-inch TFT display - of the new BMW S 1000 R offers an unrivalled level of quality in terms of display and information in its segment. The screen displays the essentials or one of three Core Ride screens that display other important information. BMW Motorrad multi-controller gives the rider quick access to vehicle and connectivity functions. The new S 1000 R can be connected with BMW Motorrad Connectivity App, practical arrow navigation with route import and multiple waypoint guidance on the display.
